  1. Thanks to Sally Charette for an inspiring article! Most of us need to be reminded now and then to stretch ourselves, both mentally and physically, in order to have a satisfying life! It’s so easy to get mired down in the hum drum. Bravo!

  2. Woohoo! Great article. My only lingering question is why the ATF bureau runs these training sessions. Fascinating for you & the other participants, but what’s in it for them?

    RuthG – On their website they say, “The goal of the Citizens’ Academy is to create a greater understanding of ATF’s role in the community through education and open discussion.” I think that they figure that they will seem less intimidating and will garner some empathy/support from the public for the agency and its mission. The FBI and DEA also run citizens academies.
