Home is Where the Art Is

Braveheart tells me that this bottle opener is supposed to be Richard Nixon.  There’s something so wonderful and horrible about it at the same time.  Was it created by fans or not-fans?

The neighbors knocked down a wasp’s nest recently.  Some of them rebuilt a temporary shelter on a front porch window at Braveheart and The Doc’s.

Sometimes nature is a pretty exciting artist.

Street art on the way to the trail around the Arroyo Seco Golf Course.   Arroyo Seco means dry canyon.  Weird place to put a giant water-sucking game board.

Girl Scout street art on the way out of the golf course.   It’s always fun to find a little something special tucked away on the less-traveled by-ways of Los Angles.

Walking down this trail I’d never been on before, which was partly right below a section of the 110 freeway, gave me one of those moments of mini mind-explosion.  Suddenly, I could envision this city dotted and dashed with these hidden pockets of green that the people speeding by every day are completely unaware of.  These little worlds that are so precious to those who find and spend time in them.

An artistic tableaux in the lush garden behind Braveheart & The Doc’s home.  They’ve created their own world of wonder in Highland Park.
